Can your existing ATS build income for your organisation?

Many people find the hiring process inefficient and ripe for overhaul, but there are advantages to running it: • Spreads the word: gets people talking about your company. • Attracts talent: brings in people who want to apply for the job. • Provides a reality check: shows the company what workers are out there. • Improves future hiring: provides data to write better job descriptions and helps the hiring team refine the process next time.

Even so, most businesses measure the return on this activity through a narrow set of KPIs: did we fill the vacancy, what was the time to hire, and what was the cost to hire?

These measures matter, but they overlook what else the hiring process produces. You may interview several strong candidates and appoint just one, or even none. The rest were unsuccessful for your specific role, but they still have capabilities that might, ironically, be better suited to other organisations.

Sometimes the selection criteria and decision are nuanced. One candidate may have experience in a specific market. Another could start sooner. A third would have been ideal for a role you've already filled.

For candidates, this can mean starting again somewhere else. For employers, it means much of the time-consuming effort spent attracting and assessing talent produces no immediate return.

The value beyond a single vacancy

The right Applicant Tracking System (ATS) helps preserve that work. Applications, interview feedback and recruitment history can be used to support future hiring rather than being lost to inboxes, spreadsheets and patchy memories.

However, retaining information does not automatically create value. Previous applicants need to be reconsidered, as their circumstances may have changed, and their future may well lie with another, perhaps non-competing, organisation.

This raises a broader question: could hiring be more effective if suitable candidates had a route between employers, rather than each hiring process being a silo within one organisation or one recruitment agency?

With express candidate permission and all appropriate data protection arrangements in place, a new model could give applicants more opportunities while allowing employers to benefit from work they've already paid for.

Make your existing hiring investment work harder

PAIR.cloud applies this approach alongside your existing ATS.

PAIR gives employers access to more candidates than those who apply directly or through their approved recruiters. You can hire direct applicants exactly as you do now, plus also earn revenue when that applicant comes via an external recruiter or even another employer.

A welcome side benefit is less noise from external recruiters, who are also more productive because they have access to more genuine opportunities, safe in the knowledge that the candidates they represent remain theirs.

Instead of a process that under-rewards your time and effort, this creates a virtuous circle: access to a broader candidate base, plus revenue from transactions, giving you a measurable financial return on your hiring investment.

Trial PAIR.cloud at no cost, with no implementation risk.
